Most large credit unions offer services similar to those of  banks.  These include

1. Open Share accounts (savings accounts)

2. Open Share draft accounts (checking accounts)

3. Credit cards

4. Online banking

5. Certificate of  deposits

6. Loans

7. Deposit and withdraw cash

Since credit unions are formed for the benefit of their members, most have user friendly policies. They assist members who have poor credit in improving their credit so that they can receive loans at better rates from other financial institutions. However, most  credit unions do not have a nationwide network of  ATMs but have tie ups with banks.
